- If you do not have a portable computer that you cannot bring, I may be able to provide one for you. Please email me.
Our schedule will look something like this:
Every week we will be covering the first steps to scientific programming from scratch. This workshop assumes no prior programming knowledge.
|Week 1 (July 11, 2019)||Getting started with R||Fundamentals of programming, using functions, data types, importing and manipulating data.|
|Week 2 (July 18, 2019)||Make your own functions.||Plotting with ggplot.|
|Week 3 (July 25, 2019)||Making choices (if/else statements).||Using dplyr to subset and summarize your data.|
|Week 4 (Aug 1, 2019)||Repeating yourself.||Continuation of dplyr, then a tidyr section if we get to it.|
If Part 2 is inspiring, you should check out a lesson put together by UCSB grad students An Bui and Sam Csik! Link here. They go far more in-depth into a lot of elements of the Tidyverse.
